A New Test

DJ sat in his hotel room meditating after a busy night at the club. Normally Starfire would join him, but she, Troia, and Power Girl were called away to the Watchtower for an urgent League crisis.

It wasn't the first time that he was in the hotel room by himself, and he made sure to have the balcony door unlocked in case Kory decided to visit him after the crisis was averted.

He wasn't tired after his time in the club. In fact watching the women react to "The Glow Vibe" actually made him feisty. It was Kory's job, then, to wear him down so he could sleep. But when all-else failed, there was meditation.

Meditation had many purposes of course. Attuning himself to the various forces in the universe could give him information, it could help him sort through the events of the day to figure out things that he had missed before, or it could quiet the mind and the body. It was far more effective than counting sheep.

The balcony door opened. An orange-skinned figure with glowing green eyes and wearing a dark purple bathrobe walked in. She opened up the robe and let it fall to the ground, revealing a purple-and-white one-piece lingerie that could only come from Janet's Wild Intimacy collection.

She got on all fours and crawled up to the lotus-prone DJ, ready to give him a kiss on the lips.

"Hello Koma," he said when she was just a half a foot away from his face.

"How did you know it was me?" Blackfire asked as she sat back in complete astonishment.

"Because your lingerie is brand new," he replied.

"And how did you know that?" Koma Anders said. "I mean, I even borrowed my sister's perfume!"

"Yes you did, and I even smelled that when you first came in. But when you got as close to me as you did, I could smell your energy against the unstable molecules."

"WHAT!? Now you're making it up!" she exclaimed.

"The residual energy you give off in your hair from when you fly bounces off the unstable molecules," he said as he remained in lotus position with his eyes closed, "causing an ionization of the air around it. It's the same way I can smell the approach of a hurricane from a hundred miles out." Then he opened his eyes. "Plus Kory's lingerie is black, not purple, and she normally doesn't wear her hair tied up like you do."

"Oh pooh," she said as she looked down. "I figured there was a reason why Janet was eager to sell this to me at a discount." Then she crawled up on bed behind him. "Well, I may not be my sister, but maybe we can find out how else I'm different? I mean, it would be a shame to put this outfit to waste, right?"

"Maybe another night," he said as he closed his eyes again.

Undeterred, she leaned in closer. "I know that you and Kory have an open relationship... that whole 'Friends with Benefits' thing that she loves to pull on all her boyfriends. But maybe you could be the first one to put it to the test."

"Not tonight," he said calmly.

She propped herself up on her elbow. "But WHY not?"

"Because *I* asked him not to."

Starfire, with Troia behind her, stood at the balcony entrance. They were both tired and battle-worn, with Starfire's normally spotless purple metallic armor showing signs of wear and tear. She was holding Blackfire's robe in her outstretched hand.

"I think you were about to leave," she said calmly.

Koma crawled off the bed and gave DJ a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you for keeping me company," she said. "And I'll be sure to hold you to what you said."

"Good night Koma," he simply replied.

Blackfire got up, slipped on the bathrobe that her sister handed her, and made her way to the front door of the hotel.

"Catch you later, little sister," she said with a playful wink as she left.

As the door closed, DJ got up from the carpeted floor. Donna's eyes got wide as she saw him wearing nothing but his boxer briefs.

"Ooh, I like what I see," she said with a smile.

DJ merely grinned as he went over to give Kory a kiss on the lips. "Sorry about Koma visiting," he said. "Wasn't exactly the kind of visit I wanted to have."

"That is okay," she said with a calming smile. "I trusted you would do the right thing and you did."

Donna felt a little uneasy. "Um, would you mind if I borrowed your bathroom? We came back right after the mission so..."

"Go ahead," he replied.

They waited for her to close the bathroom door before resuming their discussion.

"I know I had asked you to refrain from having sex with anyone other than myself until we resolve what is going on with Donna," Kory said softly, "but I would not have held it against you if you did manage to sleep with my sister."

"Kory I wouldn't do that to you," he said as he reached for a pair of track pants and a tee-shirt. "You asked me and I agreed." He slipped on the track pants. "So what happened with the League?"

"Oh, there was someone named Per Degaton who wanted to steal the Flash's cosmic treadmill. Donna, Kara, and I managed to stop him, but he was not alone. Anyway, Donna suggested we have some coffee at the hotel lounge since it does not close, so we didn't know if you were still awake." She waited until he pulled his tee shirt over his head. "Do you have some extra sweatpants and a shirt or two? I don't know about Donna, but I'd like to get out of my armor before we go downstairs."

DJ reached into the dresser and pulled out two more sweatpants and tee shirts.

Kory started to unfasten the top of her armor when a thought came to her head. "Was my sister wearing another version of my lingerie?"

"Hadn't noticed," he said with a sly grin.

"YOU!" She tossed a tee shirt at him.
